The flag's ratio is 3:5. It is a red over white over red horizontal triband with ratio 1:4:1. The coat of arms is in the central stripe and shifted to the hoist.

It is a red - white - red vertical triband with ratio 1:4:1. The coat of arms is in the central stripe and shifted to the top.

Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
In a red field scattered with five silver (=white) lozenges is a double queued, crowned, issuant demi-lion of the same colour. In the silver (=white) base is a blue label with five flaps. Below is a plain, red inescutcheon.
Meaning:
According to source the upper part shows the arms of the Lordship of Bedburg, which is derived from the coat of arms of Heinsberg. The lower part shows the coat of arms of the Lords of Salm-Reifferscheidt. The Reifferscheidt kin was appointed vassal over Bedburg in 1291 of the Archbishops of Köln. The coat of arms was designed in the 19th century and was confirmed on 7 November 1977.

Flag and banner were approved by Regierungspräsident Köln on 7 November 1977. The coat of arms was designed in the 19th century and were confirmed on 7 November 1977.
