Shield Or, on a mount Vert issuant from base a ruined tower Argent masoned Sable flanked by two firs Vert.
Meaning:
Welden has been a market town since 1402. The tower was part of a local castle, which had been demolished by Josef Maria Count of Fugger-Wellenburg. He replaced the castle in 1756 by a church dedicated to St. Thekla. In 1850 King Maximilian II of Bayern granted similar arms, displaying the tower between many trees on top of a rocky mountain. Siebmachers Roll of Arms (version 1856) displayed the trees as tents. Otto Hupp made an emendation and added the tinctures in 1925. His version displayed two deciduous trees instead. The flag colours are those of the city of Augsburg.
