Shield Azure a trunk Or in pale with four cut branches.
Meaning:
The arms are canting, displaying a cut trunk (in local language: "Schnaitte"). The trunk is already known from the oldest town seal, known by prints since 1504. The pattern remained basically the same through the centuries. Town arms in literature appeared first in 1896. The current tinctures are in use since 1812. Schnaittenbach gained city rights in 1954.
