On top of a triplemount Vert, charged with an annulet Argent, a chapel Argent with roof Gules, topped on the front gable by a cross of the same.
Meaning:
The chapel, now ruined, had been a landmark. Its location nowadays is called "Kapellberg" i.e. the chapel's mountain. The annulet is taken from the arms of the Lords of Birkenfels. They ruled the town as vassals of the Herrieden Abbey until the 15th century, when the town became a condominion of the Bishopric of Eichstätt and the Margraves of Brandenburg-Ansbach.
