I have just received from the Government of Cundinamarca a
book that deals with on the shields and flags of this department.
This book is called "Shields, Flags and Hymns of
Cundinamarca", written by Rosalba Salazar Gallo for the
Secretariat of Culture of Cundinamarca. Here is
the flag of Nilo (in Alto Magdalena Province).

"Estandarte de tres franjas horizontales, de la misma
proporción y un triángulo sobrepuesto en la parte izquierda,
dos de sus vértices están ubicados en las esquinas izquierdas
de la bandera, el tercer vértice debe estar en la franja central
blanca. Tiene los siguientes colores y significados:
Franja superior roja: el fruto carnoso del café y de las frutas
que produce en su campo y la sangre que corre por las venas, que
significa vida.
La segunda franja blanca: la paz y la tranquilidad que hacen de
Nilo un lugar amable y tranquilo.
Franja inferior verde: esperanza, naturaleza y la diversidad de
recursos naturales que posee.
El triángulo amarillo: la riqueza histórico-cultural de mayor
trascendencia que se tiene, cuna musical del Himno
Nacional."
