Bojayá is a municipality in the Chocó Department.
Administrative center is in Bellavista. It was established by
decree no. 13 of 12 December 1960. Bojayá became known worldwide
after the "Bojayá massacre" of 2 May 2002 in which
fighting between two rival groups resulted the death of 119
civilians that were hiding in local church (for further reading
see wikipedia).
