I must stress that this source is a poor indicator of the actual proportions of the municipal flags. Some flags are just annexed to the Coat of Arms in a square proportion. Two of these flags were presented previously in a 2:1 proportion. Many of these flags could be such. I think it will be wise to place a note that indicates that the true proportions of these flags could be 2:1 also.

"La Bandera - La Bandera de Santa Ana de los Caballeros, hoy ciudad de Anserma, consta de dos fajas horizontales. La de encima de color blanco, que recuerda la paz reinante y la armonía en que viven sus habitantes; la faja inferior está dividida en cinco fajas verticales: Tres de color amarillo distribuidas una en cada extremo y la tercera en el centro, cuyo color significa la mucha riqueza en oro que hay en esta tierra; las otras dos fajas de color rojo van intercaladas entre las amarillas, y significan la sangre derramada por los colonos pobladores y cultivadores de esta muy ilustre comarca".
En la forma inferior se enseña en los establecimientos educativos del municipio el significado de la bandera ansermeña.
Este símbolo fue creado y adoptado por el señor Zabulón Marín en el año de 1953, en el ejercicio de sus funciones como alcalde de la ciudad."
