and shoed of the Fourth and under a coat of plates also Argent a sword and dagger of this last hilted Or
in his dexter hand a spear hafted Or armed Argent and in his sinister a round shield of the Same garnished

According a popular tale, Hätzingen was founded by the Alemannic warrior Hatzo, the man on the emblem.
Since 1 January 2011 Hätzingen is part of Glarus Süd commune.
