The flag shows the two parts of the village, Diesbach and Dornhaus. The flag is canting with the Diesbach (Bach = brook) and the thorny branch (Dorn = thorn).

Since 1 January 2011 Diesbach is part of Glarus Süd commune.

In 2004 Diesbach merged intermediately with Hätzingen and Luchsingen into the new commune of Luchsingen.
