Ivan Sache, 5 February 2022 The municipality of Mauá da Serra (10,994 inhabitants in 2021; 10,832 ha) is
located 320 km north-west of Curitiba and 100 km south of Londrina.
Mauá
da Serra was established on 25 March 1954 by Jamil Assad Jamus. In the 1970s,
the achievement of the Paraná Central Railway prompted the development of the
town; long-term loans allowed more families to settle Mauá da Serra.
The
municipality of Mauá da Serra was established by State Law No. 9,272 promulgated
on 24 May 1990, separating from Marilândia do Sul.
