The municipality of Colorado (23,941 inhabitants in 2017; 41,223 ha) is
located 530 km north-west of Curitiba.
Colorado was established in early
1948 by engineers Cayamori and Rebello, who surveyed plots located in the
municipality of Jaguapitã on behalf of Companhia Colonizadora Imobiliária e
Agrícola de Catanduva (CIAC).
The municipality of Colorado was established by
State Law No. 253 promulgated on 2 December 1954 and inaugurate on 10 December
1954.

The flag of
Colorado is vertically divided white-green (1:2), the white part charged with
the municipal coat of arms surmounted by a green star, the green part charged
with a red half sun and the red writing "COLORADO".
