The flag was chosen from a competition sponsored by the prefecture. It is
divided from upper hoist to lower fly, light blue over dark green, with a
yellow diagonal stripe overall fimbriated with white. On the center is a
yellow oval, also fimbriated white, with a hummingbird flying over
mountains, with red rays issuing upward in the background. This is not the
same as the coat of arms, but is a related design.
