Vertically divided triband blue-white-blue, with the white band slightly wider, and bearing the municipal arms.

The municipal symbols are prescribed by Municipal Law No. 388 of 27 April 
1970, as follows.
"I. Flag
a) White rectangle;
b) Two blue vertical 
stripes in the borders;
c) The coat of arms in the middle
II. Coat of 
arms
a) Brown symbolizing our strength;
b) On orange yellow the Latin 
words " Labore Prospereriemus", translated as "Our work will be prosperous";
c) Blue representing the sky;
d) Grey symbolizing our mountains;
e) Maize, 
bean, cotton and cactus representing our agricultural resources;
f) Cream 
[color] as a representation of our soil;
g) Light blue for the water of 
Ipanema;
h) A brown scroll charged with the name of the municipality and the 
date of political emancipation"
