The coat of arms, granted since 1951, is dominated by the so-called "Türkenturm" (Turk Tower).
The defensive tower, a remnant of the former town fortifications, was built in the first half of the 17th
century, at the time of the Turkish sieges. It also symbolizes the market's jurisdiction
