The Province of San Luis is administratively divided in 9 departments. Inside each department there are a different number of municipalities of two kinds: municipio for the bigger ones and comuna
for the smaller ones.

There are 23 'ordinary' municipalities, 43 commissioned municipalities, and
two indigenous communities that have status of commissioned municipalities - all
together 68 local governments. At first sight, it seems that there are not many
flags in this province.
