Amathole is one of seven districts in the Eastern Cape
province of South Africa. The district headquarters
are located in East London (part of the Buffalo City
Metropolitan Municipality).
The district contains the following local municipalities: Mnquma, Mbhashe,
Amahlathi, Ngqushwa, Great Kei and Raymond Mhlaba.

The flag of the Amathole District has a white field with the municipal logo in
colour in the centre, below which is the name of the municipality in black
