The Kingdom of Sigave encompasses the western third of Futuna Island (30 km² of Futuna Island's total area of 83 km²). Sigave has six villages, the capital and largest village is Leava.

According to Lucien Philippe 1999, the Royal standard of Sigave represents a palm flanked by two spears. The palm is the symbol of a small braided basket, which contained the remains of teeth and jaws of the founding ancestor of a lineage (source: Ethno-archéologie des îles Futuna et Alofi, by D. Frimigacci).

CEPAC ed. 2004, 328 p. [online copy], p. 324 Annex #6, the flags of Alo and Sigave date from 1988:
"According to a Note from the Territorial Service of
Cultural Affairs dated February 27, 2001 -
Flag of Sigave:
Red half-background: blood spilled during ancient battles.
Black
half-background: paganism or the darkness of religious obscurantism.
Green (coconut) palm: Royalty or the power held by the Tui Sigave.
Yellow: the Catholic religion, symbol of peace.
Crossed spears: Futuna tradition.
Tricolor canton: affiliation to the French Republic"
