Overview

Flag and Coat of Arms of Simón Rodríguez Municipality, whose Capital is the City of El Tigre (Tiger City) on Anzoátegui State, to the East of Venezuela:
The Flag   - Attributes and Semiology:   Consists of a field with ratio 2:3; this is, square and half of length divided in three horizontal and equal stripes whose colors from above to below are sky blue, green and black intercalled with two white fimbrations. Completes the design the Coat of Arms of the Municipality off- centered  to the hoist.   The sky blue stripe remembers the radiating sky of Mesa de Guanipa (Guanipa’s hill); the green one alludes to the Prosperity of the agricultural cultives; the black stripe symbolizes the petroliferous wealth of the region and the white ones, the Integrity of its inhabitants. The Coat of Arms of the Municipality rebounds the local gentilitious.

Coat of Arms   - Attributes:   Consist in a Hispanic Shape divided per fess and filled in Or. The Quarter of the Chief enameled in Gules (red) shows a representation of the monument called “Bola of Masorio” (Masorio’s Ball) in Argent (white). The Quarter of the Base enameled in Azur (blue) charges an emblematic set integrated by a tiger in its color with attitude of attack terraced on Vert (green) and accompanied at the dexter and the sinister by oil towers in its colors. As external ornaments the blazon presents two coconut palms as supports jointed under its base by a striped pennant with the colors Sky blue, Vert (green) and Sable (black) which is extended under the base of the Coat of Arms and charges as mottoes  the following inscriptions and ephemeris scripted in capital gothic letters of Argent (white): “ESTADO ANZOATEGUI” (Anzoategui State), “MUN.SIMÓN RODRIGUEZ” (Simón Rodríguez Municipality) and “19 DE ABRIL DE 1939” (April 19th, 1939).  
Semiology:   The First Quarter, enameled in Gules for symbolize the Courage, the Intrepidity and the Sacrifice of the inhabitants of the region, present a representation of the so called “Bola de Masorio”: one of the icons par excellence of the Municipality whose enameling in Argent alludes to to the Clarity and Integrity. The Second Quarter, enameled in Azur for remember the High Ideals, the Justice, the Loyalty and the Perseverance show in first plane a warrior tiger which remembers the name of the capital of the Municipality (El Tigre), flanked by two oil towers that alludes to its wealth whereas the terrace of Vert reminds the Hope and the Laboriousness of its inhabitants. The coconut palm, very abundant tree in the locality, tell to us about of its feracity and alludes to the victory that will reach their inhabitants at the time of undertaking great actions. The pennant, enriched with the emblematic colors of the Municipality, presents proudly the name of the Venezuelan federal entity to which it belongs, its official denomination and the date of its exaltation to its present geopolitical condition.
