In 1945/1946, the Normandy Beach Yacht Club was formed. It lies on the
stretch of barrier beach north of Atlantic City that separates Barnegat Bay from
the full Atlantic Ocean. As there's really only one direction, it's probably of
note that the club's location is at exactly 40°N, and indeed, the club makes
that visible in its logo.
After 30 years, the NBYC became a member of the
Barnegat Bay Yacht Racing Association. Recently, an even more momentous occasion
was celebrated: In 2021, the club had existed for 75 years!
The burgee of
the NBYC is white with a red lining along the flywise edges, and bearing the
letters "NB" in blue.
