Of this particular Ice Yacht Club, which existed around 1900, I don't know
where they were based. Their home ice was obviously the Tappan Zee, the widening
of the Hudson River just north of the bit where the river got narrower and the
buildings rose higher. But whether they had a club building of any kind, I can't
say. They are pictured in Manning's American Yacht List of 1893; that's about
all I can say.
Still, the club's signal is the most appropriate: Like the
first European settlers of New Amsterdam here, they sport the red over white
over blue.
