The club was founded on the shores of Lake Ray Hubbard in 1969.
The lake
itself was formed by the creation of a dam in 1969. It reached its full size
in 1970, by which time the Rush Creek Yacht Club must already have been in
existence. Nowadays (2022), the lake suffers from Dallas' reverse traffic
control, a certain amount of water sports, and Hydrilla.

Most prominent about the club is that it advertises everywhere that it's
"a landmark for yacht racing in the Dallas area as well as the Southwest".
Burgee: 3:5, three stripes of white over blue, tapering
