At first I thought I was wrong here, looking for a Ice boat club in the
middle of Long Island, but that's indeed what Lake Ronkonkoma is: a freezable
lake in the middle of Long Island. The club was founded in 1923, but in the
1930s it became inactive. In 1963 new blood was invited in, which revitalised
the club. Since then, the club has steadily grown.
On the front page they
display most of a burgee: dark blue with a white-edged red disk toward the hoist
and a lightning bolt horizontally toward the fly.
