The club was started in 1984, in Essex Connecticut, but this one was to be a
yacht club that was affordable, comfortable and accessible to people from all
walks of life. This is still the way the club functions. The name includes
"Corinthian" to indicate the amateur status for the yachtsmen.
The burgee
was design by John Fields, one of the founding members that initial year. It
shows white burgee with a red E, with around it a blue C. Presumably these
letters are for the name of the club.
