Brandermill is an unincorporated community and a census-designated place
located in Chesterfield County on the eastern side of the Swift Creek Reservoir.
It was first approved by the county commission in 1974 and construction started
in 1975. It was named "The Best Planned Community in America" in 1977 by Better
Homes and Gardens and the National Association of Home Builders. It was also the
first planned community in Chesterfield County.

The flag is a white
field with the community in the center, showing the compass and fleur-de-lis
logo along with the community name. The logo is shared with the neighboring
Woodlake community across the Swift Creek Reservoir.
