Description of the flag

The new flag (my vector drawing shown) is actually 3x5, despite the winning design being 3x4. The old flag is my vector image made with a downloaded, slightly revised logo.

Article from Bucks County Herald, August 2018 (no longer online):

Doylestown Township selects its bicentennial flag

To help boost township pride as it marks its 200th anniversary, Doylestown Township called on its residents and neighbors 10 months ago to help do so with a public design contest. The township has selected a design for its official new and improved,
bicentennial township flag. Supervisors announced the winner at the Aug.21 meeting. The Doylestown Township bicentennial flag selection winner is Mike Cuomo.

In describing his design to a sizable crowd, Cuomo, a college student, said he stuck with a three color design using green, gold and blue. “The green represents purity in nature, which the township has a lot of. I think the blue represents pride. And the gold represents prosperity,” Cuomo said. He said he chose the oak tree seedling as the township is the largest producer of those trees. He chose the wheat to the represent the large agricultural influence Doylestown has had throughout history. He chose the three stars to tie in with our place in America and what we’ve done to serve our country.

Cuomo’s was chosen from a field of 63 entries that were studied by a panel of judges including, Lyons, chair; Ken Snyder, supervisor, Mary Lou Parry, Bicentennial Committee, Ted Feldstein, Bicentennial Committee, Bill Minazk, resident, Alan Fetterman, resident, and Stephanie J. Mason, township manager.
