Aitkin County, Minnesota, is using its sesquicentennial flag. It consists of three vertical stripes of gold-blue and dark green-gold. The central stripe contains the sesquicentennial logo which overlaps the other two stripes. Here is
the flag explanation: "The flag was dedicated on January 27th, 2009. The designer of the flag is Bob Reis. The artists states his reasoning for the description of the flag as follows: The flag show the paddle boat Irene Plied used to transport goods and passengers on the Mississippi for 1880-1925. The trees depict the logging industry, the wild rice the natural grain of Aitkin, the deer wildlife, the loons on every lake. Colors indicate blue for sky and water, green for forests, gold for harvest, and brown for earth." The flag comes in two ratios - 5:3 and 3:2.
