Evidence of a a flag of Knox County (Illinois) is given by a letter to the editor sent by Dave Davis and published on 30 May 2009 by "The Register Mail". Apparently, the flag of Knox county was hanging upside down on the public square
of Galesburg, the county seat (but this was promptly corrected!). No mention of the flag design, alas!
