Once available as a black and white flag photograph at www.iowacounties.org the flag of Cherokee County is a ~5:9 vertical triband of a dark color (both side panels in the same shade) and possibly white, with an circular emblem centered on it, overlapping slightly the side panels.
This emblem is a white (?) disc thickly edged in black(?) showing a solid outline map of the state in a midtone color and Cherokee County marked in a darker shade (too large and shifted NW considering the map outline) and across the map the lettering "Cherokee County Iowa" set in three lines centered along a slanted midline from upper hoist to lower fly in black (?) slab serif capitals, the word "county" slightly larger. Arched along the top edge of the disc the word "Sesquicentennial" set in bold serif capitals and along the bottom "1846 star 1996".
