The flag on the photo seems to be somewhat sun bleached, with all colors faded to a lighter, pastel version of the supposed original: Apparently it is a 2:3 light green flag with a yellow diamond centered lengthwise (not unlike the national flag of Brazil, but more likely inspired by the state flag of Delaware, and on it the shape of an horseshoe crab (_Limulus polyphemus_) in brown, facing the hoist; lettering along the bottom of the flag reads "Slaughter Beach Delaware", slanted along the upper sides of the diamond, outside,
"founded" and "1681", and inside the diamond, under the animal, "1976", all in black sans-serif capitals.
The Atlantic horseshoe crab is a part of local fauna and accounts for one of the origin legends of the town's name (massive beachings for fatal egg laying). I could not figure out the meaning of 1976: this town was incorporated in 1931.
