The flag is a white field with miniature bi-bars of gold and green on the top and bottom of the flag. The flag features cantaloupes in the center since Cantaloupe farming plays a big part in the Mendota's agricultural economy and in it's identity. The city's name and incorporation year are inscribed above the cantaloupe. Under the cantaloupe is the city's motto.
