The Salt Lake Tribune held a contest to design a new flag Utah is response to the September 11th tragedy. As it reads: " Following September's tragedies, Americans learned anew that a flag -- just a bit of cloth and color -- can trigger powerful emotions." This flag designed by Dustin Eatchel was the No. 1 pick by experts and the public. This doesn't mean Utah will change its symbol anytime soon.
The flag is wavy, so the mountains size and slopes are approximations.
