The flag of Akören (photo,

photo) is white with the municipality's emblem. "Belediyesi" means "Municipality".
The book (gray on the flag but white on the self-standing emblem) is
inscribed with a quote of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, "Hayatta en hakiki
mürşit, ilimdir", "Our true mentor in life is science", part of a speech
given on 22 September 1924 at the Samsun Trade School.
This must refer to the Ali Riza Ercan Vocational School, established in
1997 in Akören by Selçuk University (Konya).
