Description of the Flag

On the provincial website, the flag of the province can be seen at http://www.angthong.go.th/2554/flag-of-angthong.html. It is horizontally divided yellow over green, with the seal in full colours in the middle.

There is no flag for Ang Thong displayed in the Thai Ministry of Interior Regions and Provinces documents, only a badge.

A previous simplified version of the flag had the seal in black on a purple disk with the name of the province in black beneath. The upper stripe was the green one, and the lower one was in lighter yellow than in the newer flag. See for example the provincial website in march 2004 thanks to the Wayback machine at : http://web.archive.org/web/20040318113315/http://www.angthong.go.th/data/history.htm. The Thai Ministry of Interior in 2000 showed no flag for Ang Thong province.

The provincial seal shows a bowl with water and rice ears, a symbol of Mae Po Sop, the rice goddess. Ang Thong Province is one of the main rice-producing areas of Thailand.
