Outside Link:In one of the roads leading to Mariestad (the southern one, I believe), one can see flags with a logo showing the shadow of the city, sails, and the tourism motto of the city : "Vänerns pärla" (the pearl of Vänern lake). I saw these flags only once. In the center of Mariestad, no other city flag; the city hall has the coat of arms on it, but no flag.
Mariestad has 15.000 inhabitants and is located in Västra Götaland
county; it was formerly in Skaraborg county.
