António Martins-Tuválkin, 1 Jul 2006A county with 904 hundred inhabitants in 2002, surrounded completely the name-sake city of Belgorod, a county-status city itself and capital of the region. County capital is Maĭskiĭ (Майский) town.
According to this page, reported
by Valentin Poposki on 30 Sep 2005, the flag is based on the CoA: it is
like a regular BoA with additional cloth at the fly: 2:3 flag quartered
offsef to the hoist (making two squares on the hoist side) of black and
green cloth with a yellow "rampant" lion and a white "displayed" eagle
placed on top of each other on the vertical dividing line. (These arms are
themseves a variation of the city arms.) Flag approved in 2003.04.15 by
local law No.19.
