The flag is a rectangular cloth with a width-to-length ratio of 2:3, divided crosswise into four unequal parts: two white (at the top, near the flagpole, and at the bottom, near the free edge) and two green. In the center of the cloth is a yellow key with its ring facing upward, ending at the bottom with a winged wheel.

Previously, the City uses a coat of arms (adopted on unknown date) and a flag adopted on 27.06.2005.
Old Coat of arms:
The four-part shield features a spruce, a deer, bricks,
half a gear, and a milling cutter; in the center is a stylized key, the
inscription "BAM," and the railroad emblem—a wheel with wings. At the top, is
the inscription "TYNDA".
Old Flag:
A rectangular cloth with an aspect ratio of 2:3, divided
horizontally into 4 stripes: white (2/3 of the flag width), green (1/12 of the
flag width). (Silver) white (1/12 of the flag width), blue (1/6 of the flag
width). On the upper strip, shifted towards the flagpole, the central fragment
of the shield emblem of the city of Tynda is reproduced - a key with the emblem
of the Ministry of Railways (color gray-steel) and the inscription "BAM" (color
red) at the base. The proportion of the fragment by height is 1/2 the width of
the flag. The color palette of the flag of the city of Tynda uses the main
colors of the shield emblem of the city: white (silver) - a symbol of purity,
wisdom, peace, nobility and cooperation - symbolizes the purity and snow of the
northern region and the white architecture of the city of Tynda; green - a
symbol of abundance, hope, joy and health - symbolizes natural resources; Blue -
a symbol of constancy and devotion, justice and perfection, virtue and honor -
symbolizes the Tynda River, which gave the city its name.
