Flag of Bečej

The flag (photos, photo) and arms of Bečej, as well as their use, are prescribed by a Municipal Decree adopted on 20 January 2009, as follows.

Article 5.

The flag of the municipality of Bečej is composed of three colours: white (C-0%, M-0%, Y-0%, K-0%), blue (C-100%, M-55%, Y-0%, K-0%) and green (C-100%, M-0%, Y-100%, K-20%), placed horizontally with proportions 2:1:1.
In the upper left corner of the flag, the white field is charged with the coat of arms* of the municipality of Bečej.
The width-height ratio of the flag is 1:2. The flag width is 1 meter, the flag length is 2 meters (with part for attaching to the pole, 2.05 meters).
When the flag is two-sided, each side is identical in colour and ratio, and the coats of arms are situated nearer to the hoist on wich the flag is hanged. The obverse of the flag is the side on wich the coat of arms is on the left side.

* What they show on the flag is actually a seal and not the coat of arms. Namely, the symbols that were being granted by the Austrian(-Hungarian) authorities in the 18th century and subsequently were actually seals and not coats of arms - although they include the coat of arms. The "armorial patents" granted by Maria Theresa and her successors to cities and towns were formally not grants of arms, but grants of right to use a seal - although these seals were all designed so that they include a circular ribbon with an inscription and the coat of arms in the centre of it - so by extension the coat of arms was being granted at the same time as the seal. The charters included nice coloured drawings of the granted seal with the coat of arms in the centre of it - although the seals would naturally be used impressed in wax and, thus uncolored. Thus, formally, the coat of arms of those towns would not include the circular ribbon.
