The last parliamentary elections in 2004 were won by the alliance DA
(Dreptate şi Adevăr = Justice and Truth) formed by the
PNL and PD. This
alliance has gained 112 seats in the 332-seat Chamber of Deputies. The
DA is leading a fragile government coalition under prime minister Călin
Popescu-Tăriceanu.
The symbol of the DA is a rounded square in orange, outlined in blue,
containing the initials DA and PNL-PD, also in blue. The symbol is
described in the text on the basic principles of the alliance [Source:

"4.2.1.3. Semnul permanent este: cuvantul DA scris cu majuscule sub care
se afla denumirile prescurtate ale celor doua partide PNL-PD;"
(my translation: The permanent symbol is: the word DA written in capital
letters under which there are enumerated the abbreviations of the two
parties PNL-PD")
The flag shows the symbol on an orange field; there are at least two variants of
the flag differing in the size of the symbol.
