The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) is a Protestant denomination which
was founded on the American frontier in the early 19th century, and it is still
largely concentrated within the US. Its current membership is probably somewhere
between 800'000 and 1'000'000. According to the website of one of its local
congregations the denomination has a flag: "The Disciples Flag has only the Red
Chalice on a white background" (http://www.doverplacecc.org/symbols.htm [retrieved])
but unfortunately it shows no image of the flag, and I have been unable so far
to find one elsewhere. However there are a great many images to be found of the
red chalice logo that the church uses, which should give a good idea of what the
flag must look like. For example, see:
http://www.disciples.org/ [retrieved]
http://www.fccmassillon.org/ [retrieved]
http://www.1st-christian-denton.org/AboutDOC.htm [retrieved]
http://www.cokesbury.com/search.aspx?scope=all&query=disciples§ionId=6 [retrieved]
for use of the logo on church vestments
A brief description of the symbolism and origin of the logo can be found at
http://www.dishistsoc.org/Chalice.htm [retrieved]. Note that it does not specifically
say that the logo is used on an official flag, but does say it is authorized for
use on banners to identify affiliation with the church, which to my mind is
pretty close to the same thing.
