Shield Vert with base wavy of Argent and Azure, an embattled tower Or masoned Sable with windows Gules, flanked on either side by a grapevine Argent with two grape bunches Purpure each. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "CARREIRAS - S. MIGUEL".
Meaning:
The tower is a representation of the Tower of Penegate. The plants are symbolising viticulture.

Carreiras (São Miguel) was one of the 37 communes of Municipality affected by the 2013 changes. It had 553 inhabitants in 2011 and covered 1,85 km².
