Shield Or, on chief a pair of open tailor´s scissors reversed Gules, on base a toad couchant Vert armed Gules. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "COUCIEIRO".
Meaning:
The arms represent exactly what they appear to: A toad being killed by scissors,
illustrating a local legend about a brave tailor, who objected to the droit du seigneur by killing with the tool of his trade a local
feudal lord nicknamed Master Toad, as related in the official communal webpage
Frogs and toads are seldom seen in Portuguese local heraldry.
