It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a field quartered of green and yellow.

Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and short white scroll, in Bénard Guedes style, reading in black upper case serifed letters "".
Meaning:
The base wavy is a representation of the Vouga River, the mount of the Arada Mountains. Ears and bees represent two important business lines, agriculture and apiary.
