It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain green field.

Shield Argent two barrulets wavy Azure between two grape bunches Purple leafed Vert in fess on chief and a three-twig holly branch Vert fructed Gules on base. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "RIBEIRA - TERRAS DE BOURO"
Meaning:
The word "ribeira" means in modern Portuguese both "riverside" or "river bank" and also "creek" or "brook"; the wavy barrulets on the arms are therefore canting.

Ribeira is one of the 11 communes of Terras de Bouro Municipality not affected by the 2013 changes; it had 212 inhabitants in 2021 and covers 2,44 km².
