It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain yellow field (village rank).

The arms are Sable a bee Or between two olive branches Or crossed at the base and tied Gules. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "VILA VERDE DE FICALHO".
Meaning:
The bee on the arms may stand for local honey production, and the olive branches for local oil production.

Vila Verde de Ficalho Commune is one of the five communes of Serpa Municipality (q.v.); it had 1446 inhabitants in 2001 and covers 105,03 km².
