Flag

It is a typical Portuguese communal flag with the coat of arms centred on a field quartered of purple and yellow, either with normal scroll (see left image above), or with short scroll, in Bénard Guedes style (see central image above) or draft with unknown colour and arms without chief (see central image above).
I failed however to find any example of local flag use. In the likely case it follows the 1928 CHAAP grant, a purple over yellow quarterly flag image is ready to be sent; meanwhile here is a placeholder.

Shield Sable three maize ears Or leafed Argent and tied at their stems by a ribbon Gules, on chief Argent three grape bunches Purple leafed Vert Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "VILLA DE SANDOMIL".
Meaning:
This text includes unusual and suboptimal terminological choices, such as "fita" (= "ribbon") instead of "listel" (= "scroll"), lacks the colour indication of the tassels and cord, and prescribes the flag size to be one meter to the side, an unnecessarily absolute determination. It is exemplary of the very early modern work on Portuguese civic arms, done mostly by Afonso Dornelas, which would become standardised in the 1930s. The use of pre-1911 spelling in this text affects the flag, as "villa" should be spelled "vila".
Ralf Hartemink shows a different image as follows: a shield Argent with green maize leaves and the grape bunches in chief but not on a chief.

Afonso Dornelas states that, by virtue of having been made a town in 1514, a seal of Sandomil must have existed (and thus a coat of arms, one presumes), but that is lost and its details unknown. Lacking any historical reasons for other heraldic elements, the chosen charges were inspired anew on the local agricultural bounty.
This variant of the coat of arms granted in 1928 seems to match local official use, as in the clearly chiefless representation of the arms at as shown here, here and as a sculpture here

Sandomil is one of the 14 communes of Seia Municipality not affected by the 2013 changes. It had 745 inhabitants in 2021 and covers 13,22 km².
