It is a fairly typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a on a yellow and blue quartered (town rank) background.

The arms are Azure a column Argent between two twigs of olive Or fruited Argent and in chief a bunch of grapes Argent leaved Or. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "SILÃ DE CIMA".
