It is a fairly typical Portuguese municipal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a quartered field of yellow and purple (town rank).

On a blue field a gold four arches bridge standing on waves silver - blue - silver - blue over the bridge a gold cross sided by 2 towers. Four silver towers mural crown, white scroll with the lettering "VILA DE PONTE DE LIMA".
