It was a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain purple field and a mural crown having only three visible towers.

Shield Or; a pair of scales Purpure; in chief a cross patty rounded Gules, flanked by two corn cobs Vert, in base two wooden blockings Proper in saltire.
Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "MEIXOMIL - PAÇOS DE FERREIRA".
Meaning:
The cross is alluding to the Order of the Templars. Meixomil was upgaded to town status on 3 April 2025.

Meixomil Commune is one of the 12 communes of Paços de Ferreira Municipality; it had 3676 inhabitants in 2011 and covers 4.3 km².
