It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain red field.

Shield Argent with base wavy of Azure and Argent charged with a fish Argent, two corn cobs Vert, in central chief a rooster's head Argent garnished Sable armed Gules crested and barbed Or. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials: "MONTE - MURTOSA".

Monte Commune is one of the four communes of the Murtosa municipality (q.v.); it had 1459 inhabitants in 2011 and covers 2.4 km².
