It is a fairly typical Portuguese municipal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a field quarterly of yellow and green.

he coat of arms is Argent three immature indian corn cobs proper tied gules on a bordure Sable eight bees Or. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "VILA DE MORA".
Meaning:
"Mora" (do not confuse with co-regional Moura, 300 km SSE) comes apparently from Latin "morus" (a kind of berry — "amora" in current Portuguese), of which there is none showing in the arms.

Mora municipality had 5797 inhabitants in 2000 (6410 in 1990), and it is divided in 4 communescommunes, covering 443 km². It belongs to the District of Évora, to the old province Alto Alentejo and to the would-be region Alentejo.
